Feasts
The most celebrated feast is on 4th of July the "Festa de Municipio"in Sal Rei and "Festa de Santa Isabel" the patron and protector of the island. Another important feast is the Independence Day on 5th of July. In Boavista takes place every year the "Praia da Cruz festival", a musical event which takes place the week after the festival "Baia das Gatas" in S.Vicente.

Kitchen


The main dishes are based on fish, seafood and the delicious lobsters. Do not forget to try “chicaro”, a tipical fish from this area which is considered a welcome dish for all foreigners. Meat dishes are also very good: try goat stew meat and Botchada, a delicious dish prepared with the inside part of young goats and sheeps. Worth to be mentioned the famous cheese from Boavista.
