FISHING DEEP FISHING The classical deep fishing. In tropical waters like those of Sal Island the preys are not only beautifully multihued but also truly assorted. Parrot fish, breams, bottom groupers of different species, lutjanids and so on will find their way in the fisherman’s bag. All the equipment and bait, both natural and artificial, are included in the price for our customers so to allow them to fish with excellent and explicitly made gear. The Center offers half-day fishing trips: morning or afternoon. VERTICAL JIGGING After some years of tests, attempts and fascinating experiences, we can finally offer to our customers wanting to try the emotion of the purest deep jigging in open Ocean, the possibility to try their hand especially to Esmoregal, in Creoul language jacks, in the Cape Verde archipelago existing in their main species, Seriola dumerili, Seriola fasciata and Seriola rivoliana. This one can reach weights of more than 60 kg. It’s fished in deep waters, always over 100-140 m, with long jigs weighting from 200 till 400 grams depending on currents strength. For beginners, it’s also possible the use of powerful electric reels of adequate dimensions to be fitted on the rods. In some period of the year it’s also possible to try for the big wahoos that can be found in plenty around the less deep mounds. In this case it’s necessary the use jigs with stout assist metal hooks so to avoid cuts by their powerful jaws.   Thanks of Sal insularity it’ll always be possible to found a side protected from the wind if the weather conditions would be nasty on other sides. In this case remember that’s possible to try to catch other bottom species, groupers for example, like the common Garopa (bluespotted) and Méro (withe grouper) together with Wrasses like the Bedja (blackbar hogfish) and the exquisite Charraco (scorpionfish) often biting the jigs moving near the bottom. The Fishing Center offers the latest and more up to date equipments for the vertical jigging, rods of different weights with fixed, rotating or electric reels together with a plentiful of jigs of all brands and sizes. TRAINA D'ALTURA Only few miles from the coastline and in Sal it’s possible to fish in open Ocean, both local and migrating species. Yellowfin tunas, dolphin fish, sailfish, trevallies, tropical groupers, Almaco jacks and sharks are the more common species caught all the year long in these waters. The Center offers half-day fishing trips: morning or afternoon. SURFCASTING         The south of the island is rich in long and soft beaches. This offers both to the expert and to those not-yet so, spectacular spots for practising this kind of fishing. Our Center offers fishing trips of about 4/5 hrs using powerful Quads (4 wheels motorcycles) so to reach at the last hours of the day the best site for the fishing action. On the trip we hug dunes and sand tracks along the ocean coastline, while admiring spectacular tropical sunsets. The Center supplies with all the necessary for the best practice of the surfcasting discipline: front lights, different kind of lures, three-pieces detachable carbon rods, reels with braided or single-line nylon in a wide range of breaking points and terminals for taking different kinds of fish: breams of various species, biche, trevallies, jewfish. Often, when the night is full, the heavy lines appear… sharks are always there, ready to give us great fights.
