Feste
Like in all the other islands all feasts and celebrations are based on religious events. The most important period of the year for celebrations in Maio, starts at the end of August and has its focus on the 8th of September with "festa del municipio",when “Nossa Senhora da Luz” is also commemorated.

Even if the ocean around all these islands is one of the best paradise for seafood, seashells and all type of fishes,local's favourite dishes based on meat “tchassina” prepared with salted goat meat served with“cachupa”. Very tastfull is goat stew and “Xerem”, corn preapared with a type of " polenta". But we suggest to try the fish dishes, like seafood soup, lobster and seashells.
